>>1964266>Is it just trainingYeah, you shouldn't push yourself too hard if you're detrained, a beginner or haven't had a warmup.
Cramps should stop when you've been training regularly (2-3 rides a week or so) for a month and know how to pace yourself.
Cramps usually happened to me when I tried to ride my 50k rides like they're 30k, so I would pretty much overdo the first 30k and then miserably crawl the remaining 20 with cramps.
Proper stretching after rides helped me, but that only stops post-ride cramps and soreness.
>eating magnesium-rich foodIdk, might help, don't have anecdotal evidence because I don't bother personally.
>magnesium during the rideWon't help unless you're doing a century. Magnesium is slowly metabolized so you won't see the benefits during the ride.
>And are there tricks to recover from them quicklyI planned to ride picrel to visit my relatives.
I trained intensly for two weeks prior, mostly hard 30k rides, then rested 3 days prior. No cramps, no pain, no problem
During the trip, cramps started around 80-100k.
And i just... ignored them lol.
They've only been really painfull if i tried to adjust my riding position so I just rode on.
They stopped soon after and I didn't feel them again for the rest of the ride.
I was practically disabled the next day.
