I remember they did that after nine eleven but they didn't give any of the weekend warriors any ammo. Then someone pointed out that this was a stupid idea so they came up with these "hercules squads" of superhero complex NYPD meatheads whose job it was to run around crowded subway cars in storm trooper outfits. Zoomers will never get it but there really was a time when this kind of thing was considered outrageous and dystopian. Now we live in the dystopia, so no one bats an eye.

Anyway, police don't do anything unless their wife criticized their penis the night before in which case they will take out their "inner rage" on the first available delivery guy^H^H^H^Hsorry I mean illegal immigrant MS-13 gang banger shoplifter, but working actual crime stuff is beneath them.

You forgot the part where outsiders can not tell apart US police officers and military personell anymore, neither be appearance, behaviour, mode of engagement and tactis nor armament. Sensible people in the past made those be two very different institutions for good reason. If you can not tell one from the other they might aswell be one. In most of the world, the national guard is explicitly federal military and federal police. in the US there are no federal cops, the army can't be cops and in theory the nasty girls are independent from the army

The irony is that back in the day other than in the deepest ghetto normies thought police were the good guys and having soldiers in your neighborhood was a sign things had really gone to shit. Turns out things did go to shit, but what everyone found out about the actual soldiers is most of them just signed up for a lunch ticket, a bus pass out of their trailer park, and tuition benefits. Of course there's always the odd psycho who really did join the armed forces to kill brownoids. But the ratio of normal poor people to serial killers is much more skewed towards normal poor people in the military. Whereas in the police, it's almost unheard of for there to be a cop who has what normies would consider ethics

Just look at the weapons, the army guy standing around grand central has a beat to hell M16 that hasn't been repaired or upgraded since Desert Storm at best, and they drove their in a GSA Ford Fusion and they memorized the basics to operate the weapon and that's it. Meanwhile the cops are all strutting around with a $7000 prototype from some boutique special forces vendor in "0.556 x 69mm Rambo Express" and multiple backup weapons on each limb that they got at this year's "shot show" and there's a couple of Israeli MRAPs purchased new parked outside with a "non lethal" (actually pretty lethal) sonic pain cannon on top and they all have a raging erection thinking about what it's going to feel like to use these cool new bullets on a human body

Kek...what? The US has a ton of federal police forces. US Marshals, FBI, Secret Service, ATF, US Park Police, DEA and like 41109291 others. Hell even the department that prints stamps has a police force (which I think is also separate from the actual US Postal Service police force).
