The Dutch railway network has to be opened up to foreign bidders.
According to the EU, the Dutch Railway Company (NS) is no longer allowed to use the Dutch rail network unless it bids against foreign companies.
Right now our train system runs more like a metro with a train every ten minutes.
If DB or SNCF get the rights to the dutch network we will be lucky if we get one train per hour (at most).
Look at France and the rural areas! One train per day. That is it.
