>>2034150I can't recommend anything.
I'm stuck with 2012-2015 scooters.
>Chinese noname, ODM for Speedway 3 MiniShit battery construction, had to rebuild and in the process I have converted it from 36V to 24V because I broke the cell. Didn't have balancing.
Folding mechanism is retarded.
>Ninebot ES2Shit battery construction. BMS is fine electrically, but mechanically its a mess. Cells themselves are fastened very well, but connector that goes from cells to BMS is just the worst.
I have the rental variant, so it has no folding and only other mechanical issue is rear fork out of aluminium that is retarded and gets bent as you use it.
ES2 is pain in the ass to service too.
I believe M365 (Xiaomi) and Ninebot Max are much better design.
>E-TWOW clone. Meh mechanically, could have been better. Battery was horrific, nearly caught on fire, good thing i didn't fix it usual way (hammer and keep hammering until it works lol), because nickel strip nearly shorted the cell group.
And that shit is pretty much true for all chink scooters I believe. They would literally save 2 yuan on the battery and make it unusable and unreliable despite using acceptable quality cells. (I mean chink cells aren't really good, but you know, Apple uses them in their devices and it works fine. Samsung or LG would have been better, but even they have shit cells like LG M26 that are barely any better than chink cells)
So my suggestion if you get something really chinsy, (i.e. not Ninebot or Niu), buy a big shrink wrap, BMS, fuseholder, fuses and disassemble the battery to check wtf is going in there. Takes $25 but will potentially save your house from burning down, frustration from shit ""degrading"" in less than 3-4 charge cycles (i.e. no balancing) or killing cells.
Other thing. Solid tyres might sound appealing, but they honestly suck. 8" solid tire has same rolling resistance as 10" tubeless, but 10" is much smoother and pneumatic means even smoother. More stable too.
