The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), together with partners from Saudi Arabia, plans to invest more than 1 trillion rubles in projects in Russia, as a result of which the portfolio of joint investments will be doubled. This was stated by the head of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev, according to a message from the fund received by RBC.

Dmitriev stressed that initially the RDIF considered the Middle East region as one of the main directions and interacted to build "bridges" between Moscow and the leading states of the region.

Since 2015, the fund, together with partners from Saudi Arabia, has supported over 40 projects in Russia, their total cost is more than 1 trillion rubles, and 12 of them were implemented from scratch.

"The joint investments of the RDIF and partners from Saudi Arabia have created more than 200 thousand jobs, while the total revenue of the companies to which these investments were directed amounted to 4.2 trillion rubles by the end of 2022, which corresponds to 3% of Russia's GDP," Dmitriev added.

President Vladimir Putin will visit Saudi Arabia on December 6. Dmitriev told reporters that the investments of the UAE and Saudi Arabia "are an important example for other countries, which we expect will also increase in the next few years," and the president's visit is "a very important trip at a very important time."
