There is no rule (though there should be) but posting the entire article along with a link, the date and author's name has been standard operating procedure for discussion forums since the days of Usenet. It encourages discussion by saving readers the time and hassle of going to a (possibly suspect) website and with the text of the article right here in the thread, parts of it can be easily quoted so everybody knows what's being talked about.

Unfortunately nowadays, dumbass zoomer phone posters think shitting out a link is having a "discussion"...
