Belarus withdraws from European agreement on human rights
Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei announced Belarus’s withdrawal from the European agreement on human rights after the imposed sanctions amid numerous protests.
“We do not see much sense in working fully within the framework of the "Eastern Partnership" initiative. All these measures are only a response to the defiant destructive steps that our European partners have taken towards Belarus. We suspend this dialogue until the EU accepts the decision to change the policy of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, which at this stage have decided to freeze cooperation programs with Belarus, "he said.
According to him, the demand of the European Union hijacking the system and agreements to pressure for own political demands is literally the blackmailing and interference into inner politics of an independent state.
