It looks like I might have to order it online though, all the "Buck" knives I've seen in stores the last few weeks look like cheap China garbage, and don't even come with a leather sheath... Dear kings, I'm looking for a cheap fixed blade knife with a handle pattern very similar to this ( bright orange and black ) with a plastic/kydex sheath. Buck bantam in blaze orange, so I don't lose it. I like it. The handle is poly so it's light but durable. It holds its edge well. I've skinned a pig with it. I've made feather sticks with it. I hone it, but haven't needed to sharpen it yet.

It's a compromise. I look at them as ideal for travel. They are like a micro toolbox. I wouldn't choose a SAK over a stocked tool bench, but I have spent some time on the road and they travel a lot better than a small tool kit.

I found my leatherman to be pretty handy when I went out last. I used the pliers to move around my hot cook pot. I barely used my bushcraft knife however, in fact I sort of with I brought an ax instead since that chops wood but could also be a hammer for tent pegs since I found out the ground was pretty hard and my shitty aluminium pegs all bent on it.

Thats why an Opinel cost 10 bucks, you cant spect something better. The thing is that they are pretty good knifes for the price. Also, better suited for european continental/mountain weather (like the french or spanish pyrenees), not as wet as the US
