Somewhat nearby is Craters of the Moon Park in Idaho which I would also like to visit with a similar alien landscape.
Right now though I've fallen in love with Mount Saint Helens/Gifford Pinchot Forest. Those pictures were from my 3rd and most ambitious hike. I'm trying to condition myself to get used to longer hikes and eventually overnight backpacking trips.
