I also inherited this coffee plant. My friend tells me every time he waters it the lower leaves drop off but the tree overall is fine. Now the soil was full of compost but it was really hard and sandy. I've just repotted it in good quality potting soil today in hopes it fares better. I got as much of the old soil out of the roots as I could without damaging the plant.
He's positive it isn't from overwatering. Any clues what could be causing this? Any chance the fresh soil will solve the issue?
Pic is the lower leaves wilting (they've been like that for weeks and I only repotted and watered a few hours ago)
