I put the tarp up because it was just starting to rain and the wind picked up. I had sufficent walking room and was covered from the wind. I cooked food and had some hot chocolate as I sat and leaned back in my warm hammock and surveyd the lake ahead.
I would have been pretty miserable if I was crouching down in some moist and flapping tent, not to mention there wasn’t even level ground for like a mile radius, only rocky forest floor, swamps and hills.
Funnily enough trees were everywhere.
