The MSR lightning ascend are the best snowshoes out there, good for technicals climbs, steep traverse, deep snow, icy snow, they are light, durable and most of all, they fit with snowboard boots. But I think splitboard or cc skis are better when you want to go ski downhill.
And steep downhill in snowshoes really sucks
