Kind of a long shot but here goes nothing, mycoanons I ask for your knowledge and resources on not just learning about different types of fungi but teaching/ captivating the minds of young kids about their importance in the natural world/ their benefits and possible applications to us as humans now and in the futue.
I kinda roped myself into a "class" I'm gonna do for my duaghters nature day camp this summer that goes on every other week starting this month on into October. The dream is to do plugs on feshly sawn logs but realistically any grow that the kids can observe over the course of the months would be cool as fuck.
A friend of mine said Japan based their subway systems on how mycelium spreads and how its the world's highest rated subway system or some shit. No idea of that's true but if it is figure some kids would be wowed by it. Here's a pic I posted in a myco thread last year sometime, pretty sure it's a bolete.. but idk.
Nearly forgot, region is southern CO/ northern NM if that helps anyone with any ideas and thanks a ton in advance if anyone gives enough of a shit to spitball with me.
