>>1347670Haven't seen the movies in a long time, but all I remember him having in terms of /out/ gear is his cloak, a knife, a bow, and whatever he used to start fires. Theoretically you could probably do pretty well with that setup as long as you have the means to keep sheltered and fed. Strider probably would've packed dried foods and hunted/foraged a lot of his meals, then for shelter he was probably used to sleeping in caves and hollowed out logs or whatever and wrapping up in his cloak.
So yeah, probably pretty doable irl if you don't mind having practically 0 comfort. Modernizing the gear would be pretty easy. His cloak and knife could be left the same since wool is such a GOAT material and knives haven't really changed much since medieval days except for having better materials now, his bow could be swapped out for a compact .223 or something, and his presumed tinder box could include modern fire starters and a lighter.
