if you camp in an abandoned industrial area in the middle of a bad neighbourhood, then yes, you will run into crackheads who might kill you. and your traps will not be good enough to stop them.
You are going to be much more concerned with protecting yourself from the rain and cold, they are much more likely to kill you with hypothermia.
bears on the other hand are a real worry in some parts of the world, if only there were some kind of "bear trap" manufactured .....
