I show him the massive log I have carried back for him and explain i didn't spend my time talking to the girls, i was getting fire wood, like he asked. I think this has reconciled things and we have a good grill and food.
However i was mistaken, i awake the next morning to him saying he has smoked ALL the weed. He proceeds to lose his fucking mind, get paranoid and think we have to rush back to the car to pay a road toll we forgot to pay yesterday. I try to explain to him, it will take hours to get back to the car, there's not even signal there, i am not packed at all because he has been awake for an hour before me, so he should walk up the hill where there is signal, 10 mins away, while i pack, rather than spend hours getting to the car where there is not signal. He does not comprehend this. Blames me for waking up late. (we had previously agreed to sleep in and that we could wake each other if needed). He gets angrier and more irrational and more paranoid, so i just leave him and start packing. Eventually he does go up the hill but insists I pack his tent, I explain this is stupid because it will simply delay us more, because then i have to pack my stuff and his stuff. He does not comprehend, insists i pack his tent.
I am now trapped in the middle of nowhere with an irrational angry, drugged up moron.
This is how the rest of the day goes, i cannot talk to him at all without him getting irrational or angry like i was plotting something behind his back. he even nearly starts a scene in a pub later in the day.
>Things my friend could have had: tea, beers and a spliff under the starts with two attractive outdoorsy girls, maybe finally gotten laid.>Things he chose to have instead: paranoid delusions and arguments. My disappointment was immeasurable and my trip ruined. I cut ties with him the next day after telling him to stop smoking weed.
The moral is: do not go hiking with normie stoners who have never camped before.
