>>1608635I've got 4 long thru hikes under my belt and a number of smaller ones (if they count as thru hikes) and am self employed. I work hard for 6-7 months of the year then shut shop for hiking season.
It's starting to get emotionally unsustainable so I'm probably going to move away from long hikes and concentrate on shorter more intense stuff. I'd like to transition mountaineering eventually.
>>1608518>permitsThey are really easy to handle man. No excuses. Plus while they seems stupid they are a great idea. Traffic control on wilderness areas is important. I'm a Brit btw.
>>1608506>more challenging trailsThe two GR trails in the Pyrenees are awesome hikes. And the HRP is a wicked step up from them both.
>>1608748Almost everywhere that requires a permit will have a certain number reserved for walk ups. Just get to the place a day early and stealth camp near the office. Then get there super early in the morning. I know plenty of people who do this.
>>1608688desu senpai the E routes look awful. They are way too long for such a densly populated part of the world. Unless you don't mind road walking and heading through towns. Only sections of it look worth hikings.
