No matter how careful I am I cant get a simple nail knot to hold between fly line and leader. I didn't want to screw up too much and end up chipping away my leaders and fly line, so now I'm practicing with tippet.
The "snap" motion always makes a complete mess of a loose knot, and ends up slipping through the second piece no matter how finely I fiddle with it.
Any tips for the mentally challenged?
