Australia's alpine regions are unique (though small), but Australia has literally every other biome you could possibly want.
Both are generally as free as each other, as far as /out/ goes. ie: can basically do whatever the fuck you want.
if you're worried someone's gunna see you do something illegal then you're not far enough /out/ in either country.
