Alright /out/, I've been thinking about this for some time. Which one has the better landscape? Which one is better suited for /out/? Which one is the most fun? (As in things to do) Stories would be appreciated. Bonus points if you can bring your pets with you.

Can only speak from the Australian side and it depends on what you prefer.
Australia wins by default for anyone that hates cold weather and doesnt want to deal with snow and ice. You can go almost anywhere, any time and be pretty warm and comfy with basic clothing. Of course the flip side is that it can get murderously hot in some instances.

Canada has the better landscape. Most of Australia is a flat and bushy meh zone. You can tell by our most famous landmarks being giant rocks that the rest of the continent has little going for it.
But our beaches are godlike in comfort and abundance, Canada cant compete there.

/out/ activities favor Canada. Australia barely supports anything more than bushwalking. For example, Canada has Whistler Mountain Bike Park which is a mecca for mountain bike fags with all the amenities.
We just have the odd ski lift here and there and nothing is popular inland to that degree.

What I like about canada is that nature is easily accessible to the common man. Camping, hiking, canoeing, and /out/ activities are normal everyday things here. I live 10 minutes away from downtown Ottawa (the capital), yet I can walk my dog daily in a 350 square km national park because I live right in front of it. I'm 10 seconds away from the trans-canadian cycling route, 1 minute away from proper mtb single tracks, 20 minutes away from 3 ski hills, 2 hours from Tremblant, and 3 hours away from total solitary wilderness. I'm not even talking about what they have out west.

The downside is the weather. Humid blistering summer, muddy spring, and brutal winter. And loud niggers.

You can take a train across the country.
Go sailing on either coast.
Skiing, snowboarding.

Grew up in Canada, have visited Australia. This is correct, your beaches own. Ours are nice if you like rocky shores and fun-to-explore by sea kayak or boat archipelagos, but for swimming/surfing you guys definitely have the advantage.

Australia's alpine regions are unique (though small), but Australia has literally every other biome you could possibly want.
Both are generally as free as each other, as far as /out/ goes. ie: can basically do whatever the fuck you want.

Snakes, sure. They're plentiful, but generally none of them want to be anywhere near you and will fuck off unless you somehow sneak up on them. Take heavy steps and don't go sticking your hands or feet where you can't see.
Scorpions, though? None of the australian scorpions are dangerous.
There are some spiders to look out for, mostly the ones you need to be worried about are the trapdoor spiders though, and they're generally only found in specific areas. Sydney/the Blue Mountains is the biggest one, but there's pockets around that too that has 'em. Don't fuck with trapdoor spiders. Other than that there's redbacks and... not a whole lot else that's any real threat. There's plenty of spooky spiders but in terms of danger it's mostly just the trapdoor spiders or redbacks if you're a retard.
Apart from that, I guess we have those giant centipedes? I've never seen one but I hear they're an annoyance. Probably not actually dangerous though.

The main thing is that there's nothing in Australia that you can't crush under your boot. Canada, however, has plenty of big mammals that would crush YOU, which I would argue is more of a concern.

You're really not that likely to have issues with these in Australia, it's a totally overblown meme. I live in a place literally right next to a national park, so wild that I just opened the back door this afternoon and there was a wallaby hanging out in the grass by the door, and while there are a lot of bugs and things around the only thing I've been bitten by are ticks and leaches, and even then ticks are much less dangerous than North America (no Lyme disease here) and I probably should have worn better shoes for the leaches
Admittedly this is coastal Australia, you might have a bigger problem with snakes inland but most encounters are with non-venomous species and they just run away or get stuck inside somewhere

It's been geographically dead for most of that.
We have volcanic plugs everywhere, which are extinct volcanoes where the rest of the mountain has eroded away and all that's left is the solidified magma in the center.
But even as small as our mountains are, the terrain is rugged. It took British settlers literally decades to figure out how to get past the Great Dividing Range because it was so impassible.

Fun fact: Australia's highest mountain isnt on mainland Australia. It's a volcanic island in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, in the southern Indian ocean.

Also tasmania is chilly but it's not really frosty. Cold enough to warrant appropriate clothing, but not enough to make you think twice about camping in the winter.
