>>2649356>Mickey Mouse Boots/Bunny BootsUS surplus boots. Black is lighter weight but with less insulation. Bunny (White) is heavier with more insulation. These shoes are incredible at what they do and last a long time but they weight a ton. Military still uses these after decades.
I'd probably get these a backup, but only use them for the world ending or if I am doing a lot of standing and not a ton of walking.
Pros:
Best insulation (with bunny)
Cheapest (surplus)
Cons:
Heavy
Surplus conditions
Not the best traction
>PolyurethaneDon't exactly recommend. A lot of outsoles use plastics now but plastic is not heat retardant so you get a heavier boot, similar to EVA, but without the advantages of it. It NEEDs a liner to fix the issues but even still is not as good for a heavier weight. The advantage you get is more durability but still. A Canadian company, Kamik uses plastic for their boots. They are cheap, durable, but not as warm. Last I checked I saw some of the boots $40 at Dicks. I know Sievi makes polyurethane boots, but doesn't use a liner. Polyurethane also has the issue with hydrolysis where if not used regularly the foam (EVA/Polyurethane are foams) will degrade and be more likely to crumble. This is after like months of nonuse, so like rainy day boots. EVA doesn't have this issue.
