Caught this over the weekend, by far my personal best on a fly rod so I was pretty happy. Earlier in the day caught a personal best bluegill on my spinning rod too, somehow the thing got its mouth around a 3/0 hook with a 5 inch plastic worm that I was trying to catch bass with.
Also, I'm realizing that I don't think there are any bass in that small pond. Always see larger fish in the water but they haven't bit onto anything yet. Can literally drag every kind of lure directly to their mouth, even bumping them with it, and they don't bite. I found a dead carp at the shore so I'm thinking it's that. Being newer at fishing and never fished for carp before, what are the best things to use? Quick internet searching yields using stuff like sweet corn and dough balls.
