>>2331369both are kino as fuck. But I'm team underfolder all day.
Both stocks styles have some amount of magazine capacity restrictions. Can't fold that underfolder on a 40 round magazine or a drum unless you take the magazine out first because the stock won't clear it. But with the side folder you can fold on a 40 round magazine, but you are physically incapable of firing it folded with a drum in. The stock must be extended in order to run use a drum.
As far as recoil management, they're both bars of steel you stick your face on, they both equally suck in that department. The trick to cheekweldiing those steel stocks is stop being a pussy and just keep doing it until you get used to it, or you deteriorate the nerve endings in your jaw that tell you the gun is hurting your face.
In the end they're both outdated combloc stocks. An arsenal with an ak 100 series folding stock, or any ak with a fixed stock will have better ergonomics and be more comfortable to manipulate in a high stress environment than any of the old school wire stocks and underfolders. I love my folders because I like niche things. I got two other aks with fixed stocks, and they're great. But nothing makes my cock harder than flipping a stock to the side CLACK, or swingin that bitch out from under the mag clack CLACK.
if you held a gun to my head and made me chose I'm choosing underfolder, only because it was the first gun that I bought when I turned 18. I have a lot of memories with this gun, and I know no matter what, she'll never ever let me down. It is worth mentioning that the wire folding stock can be removed and a fixed stock added. Pic related is my sidefolder before I put the sidefolder on it.
