>>2287242It's great fun bro. And it takes so much effort to have a successful hunt that it makes even a single bird seem worth it. They take on something of a mystical quality since so much goes into getting to the right place at the right time, let alone hitting the bird. Imagine you get up at 4 in the morning, wade out into a freezing cold dark swamp, hear the birds start making noises, wait for the moment of legal shooting time. Your feet are freezing. Your face too. Then you see one flying by (or into your decoys if you're fancy). You have a moment to throw your gun up just as he comes in range. You lead him and fire, it shatters the quiet you've been living in for so long as you've waited. The fowl, so illusive and unassailable, is proved mortal as you see it appear to freeze and drop. But you can't believe it, you expect it to resume flying and disappear. But you hear it hit the water. When you pick it up it makes everything worth it.
Sorry if I've written poorly or like a fag, I've been drinking and I'm tired.
