>>2685145Deflecting the question, so sounds like a hard yes. Back when I was a paid shill for a fortune 100 company I and most others on my team got money to buy competitors products, and the standard response to being a shill was "I still buy things from other companies". And it's not like most people stay as shills for a single copany for more than 3-5 years.
Going back to that POS Daiwa, it was cranked down to the point paint was stripping off the seat, and multiple other reels in the same rod didn't have any issues (because they weren't using cheap plastic for the foot). And I'm obviously not going to further damage a product that was likely getting returned. The line lay was also awful, and reaffirmed by google. Used 2/3 shims and while one side got the usual Daiwa taper, the other side was still U-shaped. Worse line lay and overall quality than even cheap Walmart and Chinese reels which "smoothness" wasn't going to cover up. The sad part is I actually did a decent bit of research before buying the reel, and was reassured reel flex and line lay both weren't going to be an issue, but certainly didn't except things to be this bad.
