To all the other Texas anons talking about a filter, what? You mean you know joe bob's uncle who lets you stay on his wild property that he has had from the early 1940's? I know about the various national forests but they are 5-6 hours away. There isn't a filter you just live in the correct part of the state and know the right people.
Compared to my short time visiting Washington, I would much rather be there for /out/ stuff.
Even met some rural people in Washington and honestly they were much nicer than any rural Texan outside of my family that I have met. Would much rather live there where I can wander off into BLM land and not worry about some dumbfuck shooting me because I wandered onto his land inside a national forest.
