The cultural crossover between wildfowling and flyfishing has always been attractive to me, although I understand why it's pretensious/WASPy. The family friend who taught me both was a big time Scottish-American, but those layers of wealth/heritage/tradition never really mattered to me as much as the sports themselves. I dress in plain outdoor clothes, cheap out on gear, but get out every chance I get. I would love to do a real flush in the UK one day, but honestly I'm very content wandering through fields and rivers - and I think that's the real ethos of those sports (not the Orvis lodges or 60k O/Us people associate with them in America). Also, if this is gonna be a fashion thread, the old school Northern Americana (Canadians, Yoopers, Midwesterners, etc.) and Finn aesthetics can't be beat.
