My first one was 7ft because I erroneously thought casting distance would matter, but I ended up liking the length anyway because it gave me enough backbone to bass fish with. But the tip was so long and whimpy that I broke it twice and by getting it snagged or caught on shit. Like 75% of the fishing I do with ULs is just jigging gulp minnows and power maggots on a 1/32oz head for bluegills and most of the rest is hucking shit under bobbers off a kayak and I'm beginning to doubt I need the length at all.
