Just recently started fishing. I've got a two piece rod and on a cast today the top flew off into the lake and the line snapped at the same time so I couldn't just reel it back in. Using just the base of the rod with one guide I rigged up on a swivel 3 different hooks #1 and two 3/0, heavily weighted. Looked like a claw and just dragged that bundle of hooks across the bottom. Spent the next 40 minutes clawing the mud and finally got my rod back. Felt great.
