I know next to nothing about fishing and am just behind an Atlantic inlet on the east coast of Florida as a tourist, on a sandy bottom with no structures. I built pic related from some stuff I've got at hand because I thought it'd resemble some kind of salt water worm but I'm not sure if it's well designed or not. Worm -> rubber ball -> 1/2 oz weight. Did like 30 casts during the middle of the day and not a single bite. What fish do you think there might be to catch here and is my design bad? We were a bit farther inland earlier on a river and I caught a redfish (red drum) on the 3rd cast with a Rapala original floating minnow but even though I did like 30 casts with that out here on the sand close to the sea I got zero bites. Again I'm a total beginner so tell me if I'm doing it wrong. Fishing from a boat in an anchorage with a sandy bottom.
