I have mapped out a couple of the smaller mines ive been to but honestly im not good at mapping.

im not a geologist, I just really like mines and ghost towns. I have always enjoyed getting into areas where there is a limited chance of seeing anyone. The history of it all is amazing.

What were they mining? Always know what they were mining for, that helps determine what kind of things you will have to look out for. Don't go alone ever. Most mine exploration deaths are from falling. leave timbers and fractured rock alone. If there is water there is a higher chance of bad air. Many mines are on or around fault lines. This means as time goes on they are way more prone to collapse.

For the most part I advice you not to do it, but if you must, find someone that has experience and that is willing to show you warning signs.

oldest was probably around 1880's Most of them are early 1900's or late 1800's. Usually find miners graffiti, but no bodies.
