from the greater STL area, ive been fucking around in the ozarks a bit lately. Big piney river has some cool floating areas. MO sucks mostly but we have really neat caves and rivers as others mentioned. Hiking the ozarks in summer isn't really that great unless you're a big fan of giant spiderwebs and shitloads of ticks. Those things don't matter on the water though. I can vouch for

Question for you though, any advice for an overnight trip in the gore range? I was thinking about the buffalo mountain loop but i basically know nothing about the area
