Harsh weather and experience and limited storage space will force you to learn what gear is the most versatile and practical and reliable and you'll throw everything else in the dump, leaving behind a hyper efficient minimalist system for any situation or season that will benefit you for the rest of your life. I literally hunt deer in November with the exact same clothing and pack that I wear to a job interview in July like I'm an RPG character, and even with the same gun. I used to have a knife and tool collection that filled a large suitcase that I could barely lift, now I can effortlessly do any bushcraft or survival task you've ever heard of using only a Fiskars X7. Being homeless is like having superpowers. You have to experience it to understand that I'm not joking.
