A couple days ago I was doing some trail-running with my friend. We initially were running on this fairly interesting road—it was quiet, not many cars, a sidewalk, and many office buildings and facilities on the sides. There were zero cars in any of the parking lots, and we didn’t see anyone besides ourselves on the sidewalks or even anyone in the buildings. Eventually, since I’m using Strava, I take a glance at the running map and notice a trail entrance (trails and the like often appear as dotted lines on Strava) close to where we were running. We start going down the trail, and everything is fairly normal at first, and its generally very well maintained and beautiful. Halfway through running on the trail, I see what looks to be two car axles on the ground with a rusty piece of metal besides them (turns out it was an entire frame buried in the ground). For some background, there’s an abandoned junkyard in the woods not too far away from the trail we were running on, so I wasn’t surprised. By the end of the trail, we’re behind some office building, but there’s a large sign with the company name that says something along the lines of “this is private property and anyone besides guests and employees are not allowed” along with a message that the property had video surveillance. There’s a rickety old wooden staircase behind the sign, and neither of us want to go all the way back, so we just ignored the sign and walked up the stairs. In front of us were two ways we could exit the property, but the right side had cameras. To avoid them, we ran past the left side of the building. When I glanced at the windows, I could see that there was literally nothing inside. No furniture, people, not even boxes. Just some lights. Once we run past the gate, we found ourselves in another office park. On the right side was a small playground and a paved path leading to another road, and we exited through that way. (1/2. Picrel is the office park)
