>>1728755>Tell me about middle eastern /out/ I hiked from the length of Jordan starting at the Syrian boarder and finishing the red sea. Took me 14 days. The route wasn't mine, but rarely has any waymarks and in the south rarely has any actual trail. The north wasn't my cup of tea. It's fairly populated and doesn't feature much interesting geography. And there was a fair bit of road walking. The south was nuts, open desert, slot canyons, camels, nomads, everything.
I slept without my tarp everynight bar one. And there was only one 40 mile section were I met other hikers.
I felt safe the whole time, people are super nice out there, but the bedouin dogs are scary.
I wouldn't hike there outside of winter. And plan to go back to spend more time in the south.
>wateryeah this is the biggest challenge, but there was good enough info on water to make a plan and I was comfortable with doing 25 miles a day minimum so knew I'd be moving bewteen reliable water sources fast enough to never have to carry more then 2 days of water. I was out there in the winter so there was a little ground water around but I didn't rely on it.
