>>1784586>>1784331and no i don't work for fiskars, why i recommend them especially for beginners is because they actually reliably work (some people use them for 20 years in their garden), cheap and you will learn shittons using them about your personal preferences. because the best is always subjective.
them having good visibility colors doesn't hurt either unless you are a poacher or hell bent on larping as a commando.
you should also learn your tool maintenance like sharpening on inexpensive stuff.
personally i keep them in my emergency bag for the car nice cheap but reliable tools for that purpose only take them out for hiking/camping where i actually use them. i can't go out without some cooking have to make a fire have to eat something nice. just walking is silly.
one more thing i can recommend is pic related, you can use this, pack inside your fire kit and a few pegs you can use to make a cross support for canned foods or metal cup or canteen it's basically a stove. makes fire very controllable you can use small twigs broken up wood debris or pellets. very economic was to boil water. you can probably tweak it by cutting the top vertically and bent sections in to not need pegs and have better ventilation when cooking. i did not do this yet.
