I use a pocket rocket, with isobutane canisters when packing light. But I recently discovered that they make a converter ($15) for 1lb propane canisters (

If im in a pickle, or car camping, I get to use cheap propane canisters. They last over two weeks. Save the expensive canisters for hiking.
In terms of weight, a whisper light full of fuel is something like 17oz. A pocket rocket with a FULL propane canister is 19oz
Further, you can buy a converter to refill 1lb canisters from your big bbq propane tank. At that point, you're at a similar price for fuel as the Whisperlite. Lots of rednecks I know use em, and they actually sell them at Walmart.
The Whisperlite is dope in the versatility, and if I was in a situation when I need to be able to burn anything it wins.
But weight, ease of use, are better with a pocket rocket. And if you bother, you can have a similar cost for fuel as an msr (or at least be close, if you buy canisters). And it burns hotter!
