That cultivar of plum doesn't like drought areas and won't survive fires like some trees are able to do. So, they are better suited for east of the Rockies. If they are grown in a thicket or thicket row, they don't tend to grow very high. If they are a single tree in an open area they will grow to about 15 feet max. They can't tolerate light competition very well so shady areas are out of the question.
