But there are/were a lot of profoundly admirable things about them, or to come from/through them as well. They came from some of the greatest badasses ever, both male and female. My grandfather was WWII, got blown up in the latter Battle of the Bulge and woke up in a hospital in London

But before that, he came back for a very short while because of his father's funeral, and conceived my Dad before returning. I was around a lot of great old timers and am very grateful for having been taught respect for not only them, but what all they had gone through, creating our folks and us and ours along the way. The oldsters were a hard core trip to meet and mingle with. I used to go down to the local historical society and video their talks at the monthly meetings where they might have a guest that was a Flying Fortress pilot that crash landed at the Cliffs of Dover. There were lots, all kinds. Anyway, there were a lot of boomers there listening to them each time, but I was the only Xer ever. I went to the houses of the most interesting ones and did more interviews and such, some I even made DVDs of, and gave to the Society. Oh, and they didn't have any edgelords, which was mostly pleasant, but it would'a been cooler if they did.
