>>2678426Here’s Skurka’s beans and rice, probably the most popular DIY instant meal out there (/out/ still hasn’t heard of it).
2oz instant refried beans
1.5oz instant rice
1oz cheese
1oz Fritos (sprinkled in a few at a time as you eat)
0.2oz taco seasoning
1 packet of taco sauce (optional)
-very tasty, and popular for that reason
-roughly 5.7oz total, and 670 calories (very dense)
-works well with 10 to 12 ounces of water, either thick or soupy
-also has a good macro balance
-vegetarian if that’s your thing
My biggest problems are that I can’t find the beans in stores, and cheese doesn’t last more than a day or two in intense heat (I’m in the South). This time of year it’s fine, obviously. Fritos, most mass-produce extra sharp cheddar, and the beans will all have some kind of chemical in them, but it’s not my everyday diet. Andrew Skurka has a video talking about it.
