>>2674809>>2675048Also yeah, I was familiar with the route, I have walked it multiple times before. The big difference is the snow completely masking the visibility of the path, combined with the fog reducing visibility so I couldn't see anything.
In summer, or even in winter but without the fog, this would have been 0% danger and no problem.

I might do some proper winter skills / mountaineering courses now, because I wasn't taking it seriously before and yesterday was a ridiculous experience. Though I'm not sure how traditional map and compass skills would have helped, I was saved by smartphones and GPS.
