>>2585250>I can't understand why anyone would carry just a knife? Meaning a simple foldable knife with no other tools. You can improvise more functions out of a simple knife than out of most other tools and a stand-alone knife is smaller in the pocket, easier to maintain, and faster to deploy than a knife with multitool complications. When I worked in the trades I carried both a folding knife and a multitool. Between the two of them I was spared a lot of trips back to my toolbox and I used the knife the most (followed by the pliers on the multitool). Outside of work the multitool usually sits in my vehicle or in a bag while there's almost always a knife in my pocket.
>Why do you carry such large knifes with so little utility? There are large knife tasks that cannot be done with a small knife. Most small knife tasks can be done with a large knife if you're careful about it. If I could only take one cutting tool with me innawoods it'd probably be my bowie knife rather than one of my small or medium blades.
Pic related is one of my sewing kits I keep in a backpack or shirt/jacket pocket when traveling or /out/, thought you might like it for the small Victorinox.
