Don't buy the expensive metal one's- they're shit. Get yourself a good pair of wooden ones if you can find them, they're the best and easiest to use. Plastic one's tend to break easily. I work in geophysics doing mineral exploration in the winter, and it's all we use. I've tried all of them. It takes a bit of getting used to walking in them, and there's some technique that you need to learn- but, they're far and away the best you can get. And they're also super easy to repair.
