I bought the Osprey fairpoint about 7 years ago to use as a travel backpack. I thought the gimmick of being able to zip a smaller backpack to the larger one was cool. In reality it didnt really matter because I never zipped it to the back anyway, the larger pack was always in my room while I used the smaller pack as a daypack. The backpack itself was alright though and I still use it today, being able to zip up into a suitcase makes flying easier. This is all for traveling though I would never use it for hiking.
