>>1726849>too farwhat is too far in your mind? The gear in your pic looks like it's overly impractical for the saved weight. So I would say that's too far. But if the user is comfortable using a spoon, fork, and toothbrush that short than it might not be too far for them.
I learnt that pegs aren't worth saving weight on. pic related. Both are vargo ti nails. The thinner is their 'ultralight' nail, and the thicker is their standard. The thinner peg is only slightly lighter but significantly weaker. I got them to test out and realised that if I want a peg suitable for hard rocky ground then the heavier option is the only one. The peg needed to be able to take a hammering.
Same with guy lines. No point trying to save weight by carrying less/shorter lines as it impacts your ability to set up a shelter correctly for bad weather. Carry the right length and enough.
