he was my best friend before we went camping and I haven't seen him in person since. i could tell a dozen more examples of how he was an asshole that weekend but none of it is /out/ related

It all sounds so petty and it makes it seem like I was camping with a child, not a guy in his mid 20s

I can't keep going they get so petty ugh. One thing I did feel like I screwed up: I helped him pack and he was borrowing gear from his dad and he asked if we wanted to take his camping stove. We were going to have a fire every night and we had the gear to cook over a fire so I declined.

We get there and start a fire to cook on and I don't know what wood we were using or the condition it was in but that shit would not stay lit. It's like it went straight from wood to embers and would not light unless you fanned it. It'd roar up into flames but the second you stop it'd drop back to embers. We had 4 fires and I tried teepee/cone, log cabin and a pyramid but nothing worked.

I'm in my 30s now and I've never seen wood behave like that. It sucked to cook on since someone needed to work the bellows the whole time to bring it to temp and there was a lot of blowing ash
