Im going on my first camping trip this weekend and am very excited. Is there anything else I should bring? Its for 2 days, I got:

-tent
-bed roll
-blankets
-baby wipes
-toilet paper
-6 MREs
-24 case of water
-6 pack beer
-leatherman
-small hand axe
-pocket knife
-flashlight
-4 pairs of socks
-2 changes of clothes
-bug repellent/spray
-matches
-trash bags for cleanup

Duct tape and spectra rope i would bring as well, comes in handy much more than you may think.

are you car camping or hiking in?

if you want to take up backpacking in the future, you should try hiking in 1/2 mile to 1 mile in. That's far enough that you don't rely on your storing things in your car, but close enough that your car is there if something serious goes wrong. That way when you start backpacking you don't develop bad habits from overpacking and relying on things you can keep in your car.

if you want to backpack then:
>24 case of water
get a a water filter

>first aid kit in truck
make a compact first aid kit and bring that with you

>MRE's
get a cookset and pack ramen/instant rice/ knorr sides. It's also nice to have hot tea before bed and coffee in the morning

>flashlight
headlamps are much better, frees up your hands

also a few things to consider
>rain gear
>toothbrush

Print a tarp. It will provide ample shade during the day, protection from the rain, and a sense of space. People always congregate under a tarp. And if you don’t have one and it rains you’re instantly stuck in your tent instead of being outside.

Bring a folding chair. This is car camping instead of backpacking, so space, weight, and portability go right out the window.

Unless you’re content to sit around throwing rocks at trees between masturbation sessions, bring a book or something to do. Fishing pole, binoculars, sketch pad, whatever you’re into.

I second a headlamp instead of a flashlight. If you need to see, you probably need your hands for something.

OP here, changes ive done:
-removed hand axe
-added book and drawing pad
-added tarp for under tent
-added folding chair

will buy head lamp before i go. Also i like MREs. only got sick off one after i ate a little nut raisin mix and thats how i discovered im allergic to nuts. and yes i am car camping

Bring some extra warm clothes, especially if you've never slept in that tent and bed roll setup before. Trying to sleep while you're cold is no fun. Also some way to heat up water—warm food/drink adds a ton of enjoyment for very little effort.

Other than that you should be good to go for a first time where you're close to your car. Have fun anon.

Oh no I meant like an overnight one by myself. I regularly go on long day hikes and I've gone on a 3 day one but with a lot of people and I pretty much had everything done for me. Just never been over night. My biggest fear is probably the dark by myself

The quality is shit. If you're going to spend the money, just buy the last portable water filter you'll ever need and that's the First Need XLE. It filters everything there is to filter and the only thing it can't do is make ocean water drinkable.

Buy a water filter, (sawyers are great and save a lot of space compared to lifestraw) and get a couple reusable canteens.I like metal ones for boiling tea/coffee, milsurp and a butterfly bean cup are fine too, just be aware the butterfly handled cup handles get hot quick.US mil-spec cups have an overhang handle that prevents hand burnage in most cases.

Check your campground area for bugs and know what to look out for. Where I live, (Maple land) there's a fuckton of black flies that come out during the summer months, better to bring a bug mesh for your tent too. You'll get eaten alive at night without something covering your tent.
