I mean, its a luxury good. Its balls to the wall simply just because. You could get a smaller truck with a camper shell (you can still get a fancy ass truck with a fancy ass shell) with much simpler amenities for like 5% of the price of that. And it would probably end up more reliable. Like, do you need fucking heated floors and marble counter tops when you're already living out of a vehicle?

Also, living out of a vehicle that expensive seems dumb and risky. WHat if you get into a car accident? Or someone breaks into it? Pop a tire? Its no longer just your car, its your million dollar house on wheels that you're toting around.

There's no reason to have this in a place like North America where the infrastructure is pretty good.

If you really wanna spend $1.5m and go to some ultra remote areas get your PPL ($15k on the high end) and a factory fresh Maule MX-7 ($300k-ish), then just fly onto river banks or whatever to your little hearts content. 1100lb useful load means you can bring your lady plus a little tent city that would rival that behemoth in comfort easily.

Because those camper shells aren't really made for the vehicle rattling and bouncing and wobbling from side to side over offroad trails, and they'll literally shake and flex themselves to bits over time. Not immediately, not all at once, but over time. Offroad campers need to be a lot more reinforced. A lot of offroad camper trailers don't even bother with insides in fact, they just throw some sturdy storage cabinets and a roof tent onto a strong frame.

But you can pick up good condition used class 3-5 trucks all day for $50k give or take, surely you can build yourself something comparable to the monstrosity in the OP for significantly less than $1.45million... I actually agree with you on the fact that it would rattle itself to pieces, I just don't see how the OP rv would be so much more resilient to this than either 15 camper shells or a homemade version. Surely you could build a camper on a truck frame with as long a lifespan as the OP and a comparable level of comfort for far less than that sticker price.
