So I'd like to go on a trip to nowhere in particular that's on as tight of a budget as possible; meaning sleeping in a tent, having everything in my backpack, on the back of my bike, or both.
I've been wanting to do this for a while now, but I'm having second thoughts about doing it for several reasons:
Firstly, I've never camped before and I really don't want to end up wet, cold, and miserable on my first night. Second, winter is coming around now. Due to the first point, I have no idea what concrete impact this has, but I figure that it would add an extra burden of keeping warm, as opposed to Spring, for example.
Third, I don't know whether this whole camping thing is safe or not, and I really don't want to get raped and murdered in the middle of the night.
If someone could offer advice, I'd highly appreciate it.
I'm a fairly young European guy, if it matters.
