My dad was a wilderness guide when he was younger.
Taught me how to not be a huge fag when /out/.
Let me wander around the bush and make my own mistakes which encouraged me to try again.
Everyone in the woods is a LARPer, OP. Accepting that and trying your best to enjoy the outdoors for what it provides is what's important.

Pretty cool. I honestly wish that more parents took an active role in their children's lives and taught them skills like that. Mine tried, and I did learn a lot, but the lessons ended when my mom got sick and died from cancer, so My dad had to be the provider, while my brother and I had to step up and take on more responsibility.
